Liftgate is an added service available at an additional charge to assist in the delivery of heavy equipment, like refrigeration, ovens and ranges, and dish machines, to reduce the risk of damage or injury during unloading. It’s a hydraulic lift used to slowly ease items down from the truck bed to the ground, and it’s highly recommended if you will be unloading the truck yourself.
As Central’s freight strategist explains: “The most important thing many of our customers don’t consider is they just purchased a $2,000+ top-heavy unit and just how dangerous it is to try to offload it without the proper equipment. Paying to have it offloaded upfront saves them time, money, and ensures the professionals handle the riskiest part of the delivery.”
It’s important to note that not every delivery truck is equipped with a liftgate feature. If you think you’ll need a liftgate, make sure to let your product consultant know to add that to your order to ensure the delivery truck is properly equipped. If you’re not sure whether you’ll need a liftgate, just ask!

Military shipping is twofold:
For larger equipment items going overseas, such as to military bases, the standard practice is to ship to an inland location to then be handed off to onsite personnel who will oversee the transfer to the desired destination. With this approach, there’s more red tape to cut through.
For smaller items shipping USPS to a military PO box, like an FPO or APO address, we can cut through that red tape altogether. Central offers an efficient, streamlined approach online through the checkout process. It’s a one stop shop to complete your entire purchase upfront and ensure timely delivery. The shipping cost is rated immediately so you can view your entire purchase and close out the transaction with ease.
Central helps to handle both types of military shipments. Depending on the order, a special shipping label, such as DD Form 1387 , is required. Our product experts can help guide users through this process.
